“You’re not good enough.”
“You think you can do whatever you want, but you need to do it my way.”
“Being a paralegal automatically makes you into a good writer.”
“You’ll never write in this town again.”
“Cold-calling and marketing are the same thing.”
“You should go to a doctor because you clearly have a brain tumor that needs to be removed because you’re not a good person anymore.”
Those are just some of the things that I have heard people say to me in the past few months. (Actually, most of these things came from a 40-year-old who acts like a 15 year old mean girl by constantly gossiping about others who fail to kiss her ass, and is married to a pot head. Considering the source, her opinion’s not needed anyway.)
But rather than listen to you, I’ll blaze my own path. You’re not going to get me down- one way or another I will find a way to push past you and far beyond your reach.
You can’t hurt someone who has decided that your opinion doesn’t matter enough to be dignified. In others words, nah-nah-nah-nah.
I won’t listen so you may as well shut your face.
So what do I have to show for my life lately? More than I think, probably. I own a business, and I’m flexible and generous with my time. I care for others, and am always busy. I guess that’s enough for now.
